● El ‘ángel de hierro’ sigue siendo una de las bandas más enigmáticas y desconocidas de la escena europea de los 80. Híbridos entre el Thrash a la europea y el Speed, los de Hamburgo tuvieron una trayectoria bastante corta, en la que grabaron este “Hellish Crossfire”, su primer álbum, y dos años más, “Winds Of War”, en el que contarían como guitarrista invitado a Jürgen R. Blackmore (sí, el hijo del mismísimo Ritchie Blackmore).


Y volviendo a “Hellish Crossfire”, hay que decir que su sonido se asemeja bastante a lo que hacían los primeros Destruction, combinado con más que destacables elementos del Speed, y enmarcado todo ello en unas letras ancladas casi siempre en el ocultismo. Brillaban sobre el resto el gran dúo guitarrero formado por Sven Strüven y el ya fallecido Peter Wittkle, dos músicos totalmente infravalorados que ni siquiera saborearon el éxito del que eran merecedores.

Para el principio de los 80s el bajista Ricardo Iorio se junto con otros metalmaniacos y formaron un grupo al que llamaron V8. Estos junto a sus fanaticos se convirtieron el la pesadilla del limpio regimen militar del momento en el pais, pero este no los pudo detener. Los idolos de V8 eran MOTORHEAD y BLACK SABBATH y estos los trataron de emular. El primer disco de esta banda fue el primer verdadero album de Metal en Argentina con el estilo fuerte de las bandas que ellos adoraban. Tuvieron muchos problemas internos pero trabajaron para sacar una clasica nueva produccion en 1984. Despues los problemas con las drogas, la bebida y la falta de profesionalismo crecieron y cambiaron guitarrista y baterista. Solo la presion de la disquera les hizo grabar un tercer disco que se convirtio en otro clasico del Metal Argentino. Para este momento 3 de sus integrantes se convierten al Cristianismo, y hasta predicaban en tarima!!! Este fue el ultimo empujon hacia el fin. La figura de idolos que tienen en su pais no se debe solo a su musica, tambien a que sus integrantes han formado muchas de las mejores bandas de Argentina (HORCAS, RATA BLANCA, HERMETICA, ALMAFUERTE, LOGOS, CRUEL ADICCION). En 1997 algunos de los antiguos integrantes se reunieron para dar un concierto, pero el mas importante Ricardo Iorio faltaba. El CD "Homenaje", fue grabado en ese concierto. Los discos son dificiles de conseguir hasta los CDs lo sonya que estan descontinuados. Existen algunos CD piratas por ahi.

ACID STORM se forma originalmente en 1986 en la ciudad de Sao Paulo, bajo el nombre de EXTERMINIATOR, cambiando a ACID STORM en 1988, ellos hacian un Thrash Metal algo rústico en el primer disco "Why?... Dirty War " de 1989. después van depurando un poco mas el sonido en el segundo "Biotronic Genesis" (1991) donde ya se nota un sonido mas similar a bandas como Slayer y Testament... Para quien no los conoce, puedo asegurar que se va a llevar una grata sorpresa.

Con War Without End, el debut de Warbringer parece que hayamos retrocedido más de dos décadas y estemos ante uno de los pioneros del trash metal como Anthrax, Kreator, Death Angel o Sodom

Lo más gracioso es que este disco lo han grabado unos mozalbetes de entre 17 y 22 años, que han ido directamente a las fuentes para inspirarse y entregarmos un disco cuanto menos interesante y nostálgico, que no cae en la copia descarada pero si recoge todos los tics de este estilo.

Old school trash llaman a los diez temas que contiene este compacto producido por Bill Metoyer, legendario productor de bandas como Slayer o D.R.I., que viene con una portada a la vieja usanza y un videoclip de corte clásico, el de Combat shock, que no es el mejor tema del disco sino uno de los mejores junto a Total war, Hell on earth e Instruments of torture.
